At Five Rainbows Services, we realize that not everyone can afford to invest the amount of money required to purchase full-service and/or customized editing, typesetting, artwork, and mentoring for their publishing projects. In response to requests from many clients, we are proud to do our part to provice our Penny-Pinching Options—an economic stimulus plan for independent authors and publishers on tight budgets!
Although contracting with professionals for full-service editing, design, and typesetting is doubtless optimal for the most professional results, you've got to save something for printing and marketing your book. That's why we now offer several less-expensive options designed to get the maximum bang for your hard-earned buck!
Two Editing Options
Editorial Review Option: With this option, for only $149 , we will review your entire manuscript (up to the first 120,000 words) and provide a summary of its strengths and weaknesses and our recommendation for the required level of editing (with reasons why). Typical turnaround is four weeks. You may still choose whatever level of editing you prefer, of course. If you then select our Full-Service Editing for the same manuscript, we will credit your account for the full $149 price of the Editorial Review. How can you lose?
Self-Help Editing Option: With this option, we will edit 10,000 words from your manuscript (either the first 10,000 or some other block of 10,000) and include concise explanations of whys and hows. You can study what we did and then apply it yourself to the remainder of your manuscript. You pay only $299, and we return your edited partial manuscript within four weeks (usually less). If you then decide to contract with us to edit the rest of the manuscript, you will already have paid for those initial 10,000 words.
Typesetting Option
Template Layout Option: This option is suitable for books that are all text with no photographs, graphics, tables, endnotes, footnotes, or other special formating requirements. For books of up to 50,000 words, we charge only $395; for longer books up to 100,000 words, we charge only $495. For books over 100,000 words, ask for a quote. For this option, we will use one of our standard layout templates to create a professionally typeset interior for your book. For a small extra charge we can place a limited number of graphics or photos in the text. You will receive a PDF file of your book's interior ready for the printer, typically within four weeks.
Book Cover Art Option
Stock Art Option: This option capitalizes on our staff artist's existing body of work. If you find a painting on Kerrie Shiel's Ride The Wild Brush website that fits your book cover needs (even if the original has been sold), you can use it on your book cover and related marketing materials for only $195 plus proper credit on your book's copyright page. For that price, we will provide a high-resolution digital file suitable for printing and guarantee that we will not license its use to anyone else for the next 12 months. For a longer exclusivity, there would be an extra charge. Of course, Kerrie can also create unique artwork to your specifications, but the cost is significantly higher.
Self-Publishing Success Coaching Option
Self-Publishing Success Program: Full-service, personalized coaching with regular phone and email support is expensive. This self-paced, email-delivered program draws from our established and successful full-service coaching program...but without the personalization. You will still get everything you need to know and everything you need to accomplish to self-publish your book the most cost-effective way for only $149.
