Ready to sell your book in Amazon.com's Kindle Book Store, need it properly formatted, and just don't have the time or expertise to do it yourself?
Or do you need an ePub format for your e-book that can be read on a wide variety or e-book reading devices (e.g., Apple iPad, Sony Reader, Barnes & Noble Nook, iPhone, iPod Touch)?
Why waste your valuable time when Five Rainbows can do it for you?
At Five Rainbows Services, we recommend a package that includes both Kindle and ePub formats as this maximizes your eBook's marketability. For most of the major retail outlets for the ePub format, you will also need a unique ISBN (not the same as the print book's ISBN).
So, how much does it cost?
The price for producing a Kindle conversion depends on many factors, including (but not limited to):
- Source file format
- How the source was generated
- Content of the book
- Amount of special formatting required
- Length of the book
For an all-text book (no photos or other graphics) with no more than one level of subheadings within each chapter, no footnotes/endnotes, no index, and less than 80,000 words, the price starts at $150.
For that price, we would require either a Microsoft Word (or other common word processor format) or Adobe InDesign file to use as the source file. We can work with other file formats, but the price may be higher. PDF sometimes works OK but, more often, causes problems requiring extra time to correct and is, therefore, not a preferred format.
Graphics and photos are not usually a problem. Tables can be problematic, as the Kindle 1 does not support them at all. The Kindle 2, 3 & DX do, but you must decide if you want to ignore the half-million Kindle 1 owners in the eBook design. We have had good results, however, by either redesigning the material into a non-tabular format or inserting the tables as graphic images.
How long will it take to convert your book?
Our turn-around time depends on all the above factors plus our workload at the time of contract acceptance. If you must have it done by a specific date, please ask us first or include that need date in the comments section of the form below.
NOTE: We will not quote a firm price or schedule until we have an opportunity to review your source files. Do not send any files them until we request them!
We tend to be selective as to which eBook projects we will consider. Therefore, it is possible we might decline a project based on the data you provide in the form below or after evaluation of your source files. This is not necessarily a reflection on the value of your book, as workload and our own preferences are often factors in our decision.
Just complete the form below to request a no-cost, no-obligation quote. We will contact you by email or phone within one business day.
